Russian auditors on strike, protesting against Minfin’s reforms
About 2.5 thousand Russian auditors commenced a 1-week strike, protesting against regulatory changes which, in their opinion, are predominantly aimed to help foreign companies’ expansion, especially in case of the “Big Four”.

ACCA criticizes proposed changes in lease accounting
ACCA’s Global Forum for Corporate Reporting has criticized the proposed changes in accounting for operating leases put forward by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the US Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) as creating additional complexity without delivering any improvements.

Last Friday the State Duma of Russia approved a draft law in its first reading which earlier was expected to free all small businesses on simplified taxation regimes from the obligation to keep financial accountancy.

FRC responds to IASB insurance contracts ED
The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has flagged up continuing concerns over some of the requirements laid out in the IASB exposure draft Insurance Contracts, saying they introduce significant changes in accounting and are likely to raise implementation and systems issues for insurers.
