Russian banks will be differentiated relatively to risks they incur

The Deposit Insurance Agency wants to differentiate contributions paid by banks which take deposits from private citizens (thus, participate in the deposit insurance system). The Agency thinks that the amount of payments may be made flexible, so that banks which receive a special order from the Central Bank will be ordered to contribute respectively.

All banks will have to inform on ultimate owners of more than 1% of their shares – Minfin of Russia

It is possible that credit organizations in Russia will be forced to send to the Central Bank information on ultimate owners (beneficiaries) who control more than 1 % of their shares. This also implies that they may as well be forced to disclose that information on their websites, making it publiс.

Bank of Russia will control bonuses of bank managers

The Central Bank of Russia plans to get access to regulation of remuneration policies applied in banks. The proposed amendments to the law will grant the CB a right to demand that banks correct their bonuses if they demonstrate unsatisfactory financial results, at the same time paying their managers too much.

IASB issues updated work plan

The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) has publicly released a revised work plan updated the expecting timing of various due process steps in its projects. A number of expected timing of some projects have been deferred or clarified, and the IASB has formally added a project on IAS 8 effective date and transition methods.

IFRS Interpretations Committee publishes proposed guidance on put options written on non-controlling interests

The IFRS Interpretations Committee, responsible, in co-operation with the IASB, for developing amendments and Interpretations of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs), has today published for public comment proposed guidance on the accounting for a put option written by a parent entity on the shares of its subsidiary held by a non-controlling-interest shareholder.
