Broco settles its accounts with SEC
The US Securities and Exchange Commission has come to an agreement with Broco Investments. According to the agreement – which is actually an official and written document – the company is going to pay 1.33 million dollars. This concludes the Broco’s sandal.
At the meeting of the Russian Trade Systems’ board of director Alexander Voloshin (appointed by president Medvedev as a coordinator of the project to create the International financial center in Moscow) informed that the government had prepared a plan to unite RTS and MICEX and exchange their shares with Deutsche Boerse. Up to 25% of the united (RTS-MICEX) Russia stock exchange’s shares may go for exchange with Deutsche Boerse.
Finmin: Enforce IFRS only for consolidated accounts
The finance ministry has taken the view that the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) needs to be adopted only on consolidated accounts of corporate groups as is the practice in Europe. It feels the proposed fair-value-based accounting regime cannot be enforced on a standalone basis to individual firms as has been recommended by the accounting rule maker ICAI and the corporate affairs ministry.
SEC Proposes Joint Rules with CFTC to Define Swap Related Terms
The Securities and Exchange Commission today voted unanimously to propose joint rules with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) that would further define a series of terms related to the security-based swaps market, including “swap dealer,” “security-based swap dealer,” “major swap participant,” “major security-based swap participant” and “eligible contract participant”.
